Dean Godfrey Staten

Dean Godfrey Staten was was born on Saturday May 14, 1960 to Hubert I Staten and Gloria D Anderson Staten in Elysian Fields, Texas. He was the third born of five children. Dean accepted Christ at an early age and joined Elysian Fields Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Elysian Fields High School.

Dean moved to Houston, where he started his trucking company DE&J Trucking. He loved cowboying, trail rides, and hunting.

On Sunday morning November 3, 2024 he passed away into eternal life at the age of 64 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Gloria Staten, his grandparents Marvin and Julia Staten and Ruben and Sarah Anderson.

Dean leaves to cherish his memories; his two sons Julius Staten and Jeremy Staten (Shannon) both of Houston, TX.; granddaughter Remy Staten; four brothers Hubert Staten (Sandra) of Marshall, TX; Ruben Staten and Bobby Staten (Brittany) of Elysian Fields, TX; and Marvin Staten(Pamela) of Houston, TX; ex-wife Jerry Mae Allen; two step daughters Tera and Shenean; aunt Valrie Anderson of Marshall, TX; his sweetheart of many years Sherry and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Dean will be held Friday, November 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A visitation will occur Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home, 1131 TX-149, Carthage, TX 75633. A graveside service will occur Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Bethlehem Cemetery, C R 3193, De Berry, TX 75639.
