Rev. Deborah Ann Megginson Erickson

Deborah Ann Megginson Erickson also known as Sugar, passed from this life peacefully the morning of Sunday, December 17, 2011. Debbie was active in the Oak Forest Community as a member at Temple Oaks Baptist Church and School, a lifetime PTA member and very important parent at Stevens Elementary and Black Middle School. She was softball President at Oaks Dads’ Club and with the Girl Scouts. She held many titles with the Girl Scouts including: Leader, Striders Coordinator, Camp Director and Archery Coordinator.

She was very proud to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and of becoming a minister, which enabled her to marry a number of friends and former Girl Scouts. She loved to sing, do photography, collect ceramic houses and gathered people around her.

Debbie is preceded in death by her mother Mary Megginson; and is survived by her father Harlen Guy Megginson, Sr.; husband Roger Erickson; daughter Peggy Gregorek and husband Jeff; son Joel Erickson; sisters Cindy McCullough and husband Tim, Marie Van Dusen and husband Rob, Sharon Isaacks and husband Bill; brother Guy Megginson and wife Rachel; grandchildren Justin, Tiffany, Mary, Catrina, Giovanni, Shawn; numerous nephews and nieces.

Throughout her life, she made friends, kept the old, some were silver and others were gold. A circle is round it has no end that is how long Debbie will be our friend.
