Delano Elmore

Delano also known as Dale, met his loving wife, Lois in Kenner, Louisiana and married on August 25, 1960. He worked for Braniff Airlines Sales for 25 years, and then went on to work for various Oil Companies for 25 years. Dale was very social and enjoyed talking to people, as he knew no strangers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Uda and Elzora Elmore; sister, Nona Elmore Rodriguez; brother, U.C. “Jack” Elmore.

Dale is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lois Terrebonne Elmore; daughter, Carleen “Jinx” Elmore Kerr; son, Andrew Delano Elmore; grandchildren, Christopher Chase Kerr, Chelsey Cheyenne Hebert, Jordan Leigh Elmore, and Brylan Andrew Elmore; great grandchildren, Amaiah Alazae Kerr, Alana Joelle Kerr, Amerie Jade Kerr, Zoey Janelle Zacarias-Kerr, Easton Jereaux Hebert, and Aubrey Roxane Woodard.

Serving as pallbearers are Chase Kerr, Brylan Elmore, Josh Waguespack, Victor Hill, Cheyenne Hebert and Demetrius Woodard.

A visitation for Delano will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 11:30 AM, in the Family Chapel at Brookside. A committal service will occur Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 2:15 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.
