Della Marie Sylvester Wilkerson

Della met Norman at a Smiley High School football game. They soon married on December 20, 1958. She had two beautiful daughters and raised them in the 1960’s tradition. Her love of flowers and plants enabled her to later work at Walmart in their gardening department. Aside from a loving marriage, she loved raising her family and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Wilkerson; parents, Kenneth & Dorothy Sylvester; brother, Phillip Sylvester; sister, Elizabeth Sylvester; daughter-in-law, Karen Wilkerson.

Her memory will be kept by her survivors, son, Norman Wilkerson Jr. (Pamela); daughters, Norma Hartness (Gary), Dorothy Thomas (Ricky); grandsons, Norman Wilkerson III (Natasha), Spencer Hartness, Jeremy Wilkerson, Blake Wilkerson (Rachel); granddaughters, Elizabeth Spinkle (Waylon), Joycelynn Hartness, Tiffany Morse; great-grandson, Nikola; great-granddaughter, Ivory, Naomi; brother, Joel Sylvester and sister-in-law, Brenda Sylvester.

A visitation for Della will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Splendora Cemetery, Splendora, Splendora, Texas 77372.
