God called one of his angels home after a hard fought battle with Pancreatic Cancer with his family by his side on March 13th, 2022. Dennis Anthony Onda was born to Andrew and Charlene Onda on June 6th, 1960 in Houston, Texas. He would remain in Houston for most of his early years until moving to St. Louis, Missouri with his family. Ultimately, he would return home to Houston after finishing high school where he would finally settle.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Janis, and their two sons Benjamin (Jamie) and Logan (Alex). He is also survived by 3 beautiful grandchildren Liam, Lennon and Grayson; his sister and law TJ and nephew Tory (Shari); his older brother and role model Tom and wife Dorothy, their children Jason (Rebecca) and Kelli, their grandson Thomas; as well as his best friend and older sister Ellie. Dennis is also survived by his sister in law, Allyson and husband Sheldon, as well as their daughter Elizabeth; along with many other family and friends.
Dennis was greeted into heaven, with open arms, by his loving parents Andrew and Charlene; older siblings Terry and Diane; his loving in-laws Henry and Gloria Askew; along with many other family and friends.
From an early age, Dennis loved the mechanics and physical workings of the world around him. He developed a fascination with trains as his father Andrew spent a career working for the Frisco railroad. He would go on to spend countless hours in his later years tinkering with train sets as an avid hobby. Dennis was also very well traveled. As a field service engineer for LNS America, he visited 5 different countries, all 48 of the continental United States and a quick pass through of Alaska.
Dennis was also a very devoted sports fan, especially of his beloved Houston Astros. He enjoyed competition very much and always was up for hitting the golf course to play a round. Some of his fondest memories were the many family trips spent watching his younger son Logan play baseball all the way through his college years. He also thoroughly enjoyed talking business and mapping out entrepreneurial moves with his son Benjamin for his digital media business that they started from scratch together. Dennis and his wife Janis shared 33 years of marriage that was full of love and laughter. He also was a huge dog lover as him and the family's French Bulldog, Watson, were inseparable.
He will be so dearly missed and his legacy will forever be shared through his children and grandchildren.
He will always be with us! Our Angel forever!
We love you Dennis!
