We gather today to celebrate the life of Diane Morris, a woman who embodied the very spirit of a fighter. A wife, a mother, a sister, an aunt, and a friend, Diane who touched countless lives with her unwavering strength, her boundless generosity, and her love and compassion.
Born and raised in Archibald Street, Tunapuna, Trinidad, Diane's childhood was filled with the warmth of her family – her late parents, Vincent and Gloria Stewart, and her siblings. Her education took root at Tunapuna A.C. Primary School, Maracas SDA School, and Mount Hope Secondary School.
In 1985, Diane embarked on a new chapter, migrating to the United States. Her journey led her from Brooklyn, NY, to Miami, Florida, before she finally settled in her beloved city Houston, Texas where she met and married her soulmate.
Diane and Bernard were married in 1999, where they built a loving and beautiful life together of almost 34 years. Diane and Bernard established her lifelong dream of creating a successful business called D & B Enterprises. Diane was called to share her God-given gift of bringing kindness and caring to her clients who were some of the most notable and prestigious people throughout the Houston area.
Diane and Bernard were inseparable to the point of being able to finish each other’s thoughts. Their extensive travels took them around the world making memories to last a lifetime. Bernard remained by her side until God called Diane home.
Diane's work ethic was legendary. For many years, Diane served as an LPN, bringing comfort and care to countless families in the Houston area. Her patients were not just her work; they were people she treated with compassion and respect. Her dedication to their well-being was a testament to her fighting spirit, a spirit that refused to give up.
Diane's fight against her illness was a testament to her spirit. She worked and fought to the very last day, never letting the illness dim her light. Now, Diane leaves a void that cannot be filled. Her husband, Bernard Morris, grieves alongside their daughter, Shakara Herbert(Matthew), Monte and Airess. Her siblings, Rosemarie, Patricia, Hayden, Learie, and twin sister Denise, feel the sting of loss.
Nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins will carry the weight of her absence.
Diane may be gone, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her kindness, her laughter, her unwavering love – these are the gifts she leaves behind. Let us honor her memory by carrying those gifts with us, by extending a helping hand whenever we can, and by holding our loved ones close.
May you find peace, Diane, and may your memory be a blessing to those who loved you.
