Dieu-Ly (Julie) was the kind of woman whose love arrived before you even knew you needed it. In her kitchen, something was always simmering—soups, rice dishes, or desserts. Cooking wasn’t a chore to her; it was her love language. She rarely sat down while others were still eating, moving between stove and table, refilling glasses, making sure everyone else was full before she even thought about herself. That was her way everywhere she went. She carried the quiet weight of everyone else’s needs and somehow made it look effortless. If someone was tired, she stepped in. If someone was hurting, she noticed—sometimes before they did. She gave and gave, not because she had to, but because loving fiercely was as natural to her as breathing.
Her family was her compass. She loved them with a devotion that didn’t ask for applause or recognition. It showed up in late-night phone calls, in packed meals, in reminders, in worry, in laughter. She spent her life putting everyone first. And in doing so, she left behind something lasting: a legacy of warmth, generosity, and deep love that will keep nourishing the people she cared for.
Even though Dieu-Ly has passed on, her love hasn’t left - it will forever linger in our hearts. Time may move forward, but her love remains steady and enduring, a reminder that some people never truly leave us—they simply live on in our hearts, guiding us quietly, always remembered.
