

DiJon Britten Lyles, who was 57 years of age, was called home by the Holy Father, as he transitioned into Heaven on August 10, 2023, in Houston, Texas.
DiJon is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Elva Lyles, of 14 years, and his beautiful, dedicated daughter, Ashli Lyles, age 23. DiJon is survived by his adoring siblings Bryant Britten Lyles, Leroy Fairley Jr., LaKia Drewery (Brett Jr.), Brittan Swanagan-Russel, and Karen Washington, sister-in-law (Don).
He was preceded in death by his mother Kathryn Ann Fairley and his brother Justin Paul Lyles.
DiJon was born on April 9, 1966, on the Southside of Chicago, Illinois, to the nurturing parents of William Britten Lyles and Kathryn Ann Fairley. Candace Lyles immediately became his supportive second mother throughout his life.
DiJon graduated from Bass Field High School in Mississippi, class of 1984. After graduating, Dijon met Elva’s uncle, Joseph Malone, affectionately originating his nickname “Joe Jr” and adopting his unique, refined style that included designer suits and pinky rings. DiJon worked for Chapel Sales, Inc./Joseph Malone & Associates. DiJon traveled the United States selling magazines and books, and quickly became a master navigator. DiJon knew every freeway and back street in America. He embraced traveling with his Chapel Sales family and enjoyed great success. After 10 years of service with Marriot Hotels, DiJon received the Certificate of Appreciation for Quality and Integrity. He found great pleasure in working with his Springhill Suites by Marriot family on JFK Blvd. He was also an active real estate agent with JLA Realty. His career as a Realtor followed in the footsteps of the family business, Britten Realty.
DiJon crafted the model of a great family man and loving father. He married Elva Lyles on April 4, 2009, and immediately Ashli Lyles became her daughter. DiJon was the best big brother ever to his siblings. He had a smile that was infectious and he loved to laugh and listen to oldies day and night. He was a peaceful, loving, non-violent man who got along with everyone he met. His family and friends will remember him as one of the coolest cats to walk the earth. DiJon loved to go fishing with his father and brother in California, Mexico, and Florida. He also loved to work on his fleet of Mercedes Benz. DiJon and Elva enjoyed traveling to music festivals in New Orleans and taking fDiJon has always been an active Uncle in the lives of his nieces and nephews: Kiayna Ann Whitfield, Brett Drewery III, Brianna Ashley Lyles, Aleiah Marie Lyles, Terry Venson, Inayah Drewery, Dionte Hicks, Nia Russell, Sydney Russell, and the honorable tribe of Leroy Fairley Jr., with a host of loving Aunts and Uncles.
DiJon Britten Lyles will be loved forever and will always live in our hearts.

A visitation for Dijon will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Monica Catholic Church, 8421 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral services will occur Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 8421 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088. A committal will occur Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at PARADISE NORTH CEMETERY, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088.
