Dindial Mahabir, an extraordinary human being. A man who stressed on unity and peace.  He was filled with goodness, in every aspect of his life. For all the times I met with him, he was ever uplifting and forward thinking in every way. I was one of the fortunate ones who saw him a few weeks before his passing, and enjoyed every moment over 2 days with him. I pray that His Soul rest in peace in the bosom of Our Lord. My prayers, sympathies, and condolences to his lovely children and the extended family.

One of my favourite memories of Uncle Dean, was on when we were little in the country. He would wake me up on in the morning on weekends, and we would sit together in front of fire, mud chulha, to warm up before starting the day. When he and other aunts and uncles went to Hindi class in the evenings, Uncle Dean would put me on his shoulders and carry me with them. And for a short period of time when I was toddler, he nick-named me Mislym. Later when I was older and visited Dean in Houston, he always welcomed me and my family with open arms and made sure we wanted for nothing. 

I will always remember Uncle Dean as the wonderful, outgoing, generous man he was who was always happy to see family, and simply the nicest guy you'd ever want to know. 

Rest in Peace Uncle, I will miss you.

My loving uncle was an inspiration of the valve of family. Uncle Dean helped me to get my visa in 1968 to go to England to pursue my education in nursing. He attended my daughter’s wedding in July 1998 in Miami. Once again, he and Aunty Zi surprised me on September 2007 at my 60th birthday party. I love him and memories of time spend with all my uncles and aunts will rest in my heart forever.

Many years have passed but my memories with Dean still remain fresh in my heart. We, with other friends, shared a deep friendship during the years we were teachers at Asja Boys College in San Fernando, Trinidad W. I. Outside of our teaching responsibilities, many weekends were spent sharing quality time at each other's home, enjoying a few drinks on a Saturday night, and lots of pleasurable time in popular beaches around the Island. 
Dean was a dedicated and conscientious teacher and was loved and respected by his students. He was a good soul, kind and caring toward his friends. Being senior to all of us, he would take it upon himself to give sound advise. I remember him encouraging me to go abroad and offering to assist me should I decide to go to the USA with him. I chose, instead, to move to Canada. 
To Dean's family -  his siblings, his children, grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews, I offer you my deepest condolences. He was one of a kind! His Spirit will always be in your hearts. God Bless .     

Dean was a great classmate and all around person. When we first came to Houston he actually helped me with info needed in getting my practice started . He also treated many of my family members. He will definitely be missed. God bless you  and your family.

Uncle Dean was a kind and generous person who loved life and family. I remember his most infectious laughter and his knack for making everyone feel special. We were always ‘Baby’, or some affectionate form of our names, he had conjured up. 
You were an awesome uncle and a wonderful brother to my mum. She loved you so very much and is waiting patiently to be reunited with you. 
My sister (Auts) and I feel blessed to have had you in our lives and would miss you dearly.

Dearest Uncle Dean: 

You'll be remembered for the love, light and humor you shared. You were so down to earth, and always made us feel so special.  I'm so happy we decided to visit you in August, sadly you left 6 weeks after.  I am happy that you are now reunited with Aunt Zai, you missed her so much, and life seemed so empty without her.  We'll miss you!  May your beautiful soul RIP.

My Daddy was my hero in this life. He protected me and loved me. He gave wisdom and advice that was always on time and in season. I will miss hearing his voice, the way he called my name! I love you Daddy 💕

Dean was a kind and patient man. He was always pleasant and helpful to those around him when we were students
 He ran a successful and respected practice.  The quality of Dean will be greatly missed. He inspired those around him all of his life. Rest in peace.

Dr. Mahabir and I went to the same undergraduate school Tougaloo College in Mississippi at different times. But we were classmates at Meharry and friends. He was a role model for me because he came to dental school in his 30’s. He had been a dental laboratory technician before he came to dental school. He continued to do lab work for local dentists to pay his rent and provide for his wife. He never failed a class in spite of working. He was always calm and cool. He didn’t complain about hard work as much as some of us younger classmates.  What a man!

Uncle Dean was my mother's brother.I will always remember him as a very kind , quiet and loving person. Growing up in Trinidad , my siblings and I would visit him in Centeno where he worked and lived .We would walk miles to get to his house and he would bring us back home after spending the day with him and aunty. Rest in peace uncle .My mom would have been very sad if she was alive but I believe you are reunited with your loved ones. RIP
