

Dolores Maria Becerra, age 69, passed away with her family by her side on August 7, 2016 in Houston, TX. A native Houstonian, she was born to Severino and Josefa Corona on May 20, 1947. She graduated from Furr High School and married her sweetheart, Richard Becerra, in 1966. They had four children, JB, Ricky, Trisha, and Rachel, and nine grandchildren. She cherished her time with her family and made yearly summer trips to New Braunfels for camping on the Guadalupe River. Her parents were one of the founding families of St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church and she provided a lifetime of service to the church as office manager, CCE teacher for First Communion, Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Dolores continued her education at San Jacinto College and earned her Associates in Interior Design. She was an entrepreneur and enjoyed pursuits as a Florist and Mary Kay consultant. At the time of her death, she was an active member of the Houston Board of Realtors, Texas Real Estate Commission, and the National Association of Realtors. Despite numerous health issues, she remained active in her work as a Realtor and in many community service organizations. She was a Lifetime Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo - Go Tejano Committee, member of the Navigation Area Business Association (NABA), and member of the Shoes for Kids annual charity event. She is survived by her husband, Richard Becerra, her daughter and son-in-law, JB and Rick Delano; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Jenny Becerra; daughter and son-in-law, Trisha and German Gongora; grandchildren: Erica, Lauren and spouse, Nicholas, Victoria and spouse, Edgar, Alec, Danielle, Jennifer, Juan Carlos, Jonathan and Julia; and her sisters Mary Lou Corona and Toni Corona Bolton. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rachel Becerra; brother, Severino M. Corona Jr.; sister, Mary Benavides; and her parents, Josefa and Severino Corona.
