Donnie Neal Petty

Donnie Neal Petty, age 82, of Houston, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Donnie was born November 28, 1939 in Corsicana, Texas. He was the son of Dorthy and Melvin Gammon. Don attended school at Sam Houston High School. On July 15th 1978 He was married to his second wife Judy Petty in Houston Texas. Don worked as a truck driver for Big State and Red Ball trucking until his retirement. Don had a passion for Country music and early Rockabilly artists such as Vince Gill, Dwight Yokum, Elvis, and Roy Orbinson but enjoyed any music that had a good guitar line. Don was a big fan of the Houston Texans Football, The Houston Astros baseball, and followed NASCAR religiously. Don was a Devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather that worked hard to provide for his family. Don loved to go for drives to see the ever changing city of Houston and to reminisce of old times. Don was ever the prankster but was also caring and would drop everything to help someone in need. Until the moment of his passing he was ever the spirit of youth. Don is preceded in death by Mother Dorothy Gammon, Step-Father Melvin Gammon, Sister Donna Kay Whaley, and Son Donnie "Skip" Petty Jr. He is survived by his loving Wife Judy Petty, Sons Curtis Petty (Wife Kathy), Ronnie Petty (Wife Mandy), Daughter Crystal Petty-Jones (Husband Jeremy), Grandchildren; Jamie Kramer, Cassi Hudson, Chad Petty, Courtney James, Blake Petty, Lance Petty, Taylor Petty Amber Young, Arabella Rodriguez, Grandchildren; Paige, Abigail, Charlie, Hailey, Kyle, Kolton, Carson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers the family asks for you to donate to the American Cancer Foundation.

A graveside service for Donnie will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at11:00 AM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.

Serving as pallbearers are Ronnie Petty, Jeremy Jones, Charlie Stewart, Darko Kavazovic, David Stanfield and Anthoney Stanfield.
