Dorcas Carroll Robinson of New Braunfels, TX passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the age of 75. She was born on October 17, 1949 in Fort Worth, TX. Dorcas was raised in Bellaire, TX and spent many years in Victoria, TX. She eventually moved to New Braunfels, TX to be closer to her daughter, Crystal, and her 3 precious grandchildren.
Dorcas was actively involved in church for many years working with the youth group at First Baptist Church Victoria. She was also actively involved in Community Bible Study during her time in Victoria. She was in leadership for many years while there.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Naomi Rebecca Robinson and Bilbro Robinson Jr. and her two children, Thomas Shane Maddux and Amanda Carroll Maddux.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Tom Maddux, her daughter Crystal Saddler and David Saddler and her grandchildren Zachary Saddler and fiancé Ellie Miller, Ashley Saddler and Abigail Saddler.
At the age of 16 years old, Dorcas worked at a soda shop in Houston and in walked this handsome man who taught her how to make ‘special’ malts that almost got her fired. She knew immediately that she would marry him. Her coworkers and friends thought she was crazy but at just 17 years old, what God put in her heart, came to pass and a 57 year, loving marriage to Tom began. They were married on July 1st, 1967. She was such a loving wife, mom and Honey! There was nothing more important to her than her relationship with Jesus and her family. She dedicated her entire life to those pursuits and anyone who knew her, knew exactly who and what her priorities were. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family. Her legacy is her example of Godly living and her example of how to make those around her KNOW that they were loved. She opened her home and her heart to everyone and taught her family to do the same. She loved taking care of her man and her family in any way she could. Life will never be the same without her, but we know her words to us would be to rejoice that she is with the Lord!
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Forest Park Westheimer on Saturday, February 8th at 2 pm. Visitation with the family will begin at 1 pm.
Interment to follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Dorcas’ honor to a charity or church that is meaningful to you and your family.
