

Doris Martin Covey “Momo” went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 3, 2012, and now walks on streets of gold in her eternal home. Doris was born October 18, 1926, in Houston, Texas, to parents Benjamin N. and Willie E. Martin. Doris was raised in Houston and San Antonio, where she graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1943. Doris graduated from Baylor University in 1946. During her senior year at Baylor, Doris met returning WWII Army Air Force veteran Milton H. Covey, who became the sweetheart of her life and married him on December 6, 1947, in San Antonio. From this union came 3 sons, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Doris is survived by Milton, her beloved husband for over 64 years, sons Steve & wife Kathy, Jim & wife Annette, Mark & wife Val, grandchildren Chad & wife Emily, Kelly Russell & husband Lee, Katie, Lauren, Marilee, Matt, Zac, Josh, and great granddaughter Elena Kay. Doris was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a longtime member of the JOY class in the Koinonia department at Tallowood Baptist Church. Doris was devoted to the Lord, her family, and her friends; her sweet spirit will be missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tallowood Baptist Church Building Fund, 555 Tallowood, Houston, Texas 77024. A memorial service will be held at Tallowood Baptist Church on Monday, May 7, at 11:00am in the Chapel, Dr. Duane Brooks, officiant.
