Dorothy Theresa Szymanski Graziani, 92, passed away Peacefully on April 25, 2023, with her niece, Cathy, at her bedside. Dorothy was born on September 17, 1930, in Houston, Texas to Martin Szymanski and Valentina Murski Szymanski.
She married Richard Joseph Graziani, Jr. on February 27, 1953, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Houston. They were Married 58 years before Richard’s death on September 17, 2011, Dorothy’s Eighty-first birthday.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard, brothers Martin (Junior), Theodore (Putt), Bernard (Benny), John, Edmond, Clement (Clem) and sister Gertrude Snow, Barbara Macejewski, Annie Pavloski, Rose Hidalgo, Cecilia Schillaci, Frances Lucas, Mary Cashiola, Genevieve (Effie) Amalfi. She is survived by sisters-in-law Peggy Szymanski, Mary Anne Szymanski and numerous nieces and nephews.
Throughout her marriage to Richard, there were many fishing trips to Galveston, Texas, where they had a weekend home and many vacations to racetracks across the country supporting their love of NASCAR. They developed many friendships on their journeys with people that shared their love of the sport. Dorothy also loved playing cards with family and friends.
After the sale of her property in 2020, she moved into Apartment 410 at Harvest Home Assisted Living in Tomball, Texas. She thrived while living there and seemed very happy. She met many new friends and loved sharing in the activities, especially Bingo on Fridays and Dominoes every afternoon. No Matter what was going on or who might be visiting, if a game of Dominoes was starting, she would be there.
It is comforting to know that Dorothy and Richard will spend eternity together as his remains will be interred with her. We thank God for Dorothy’s life and may God’s blessings be with us all.
