Dorothy Ina Hall was born on February 19, 1926, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Ina Hensley Hall and Orville Blaine Hall. She lived a full and remarkable 100 years before peacefully passing away on May 5, 2026. Dorothy will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend.
During World War II, Dorothy and her sisters spent their younger years in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Tucson, Arizona, where they enjoyed traveling, attending movies and plays, and dancing to Big Band Swing music.
Dorothy earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa and remained a proud and active supporter of the Phi Mu sorority for more than 50 years. In 1948, she was recognized as an “Outstanding Businesswoman of the Year” of her senior class and began her professional career with Oklahoma Natural Gas. She later worked as an executive secretary for Sinclair Oil Company, where she became highly skilled in typing and shorthand.
In 1951, Dorothy married the love of her life, Clark B. Griswold, who worked for Gulf Oil Company. Together, they built a loving family and raised three children: Kim Scott and spouse Cindy, Brett Alan, and Dina Louise and spouse B. George. Dorothy was also a proud grandmother to Korey, Koby, Isaac, and Daisy. She dearly loved her sisters and cherished her nieces and nephews, including Norma Ewing (Bill), Betty Jo Lewis, Rev. Terry Ewing, Tom Ewing, and Kevin Moody.
In the early 1960s, the family relocated to Houston, Texas, where Dorothy became a beloved member of both the Sharpstown community and Gethsemane United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. Her strength, dedication to family, and enduring spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A Committal Service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, US, on June 2, 2026, from 9:00 am to 9:30 am.
