
Dorothy Louise Stimson-Eckel Justman, 96 entered into life on June 24, 1914 to the union of Arthur Carl Stimson and Loleet Roberta Usener Stimson Eckel. Dorothy entered into eternal rest on May 19, 2011 in Schertz, Texas after having lived 95 years in Houston, Texas and having been a member of one of the founding families. Ms. Justman was a member of the Texas German Society and Harris County Historical Society. She was an accomplished author having written German Colonists of Houston. During her earlier years, Dorothy attended Both Rice University and The University of Houston, earning both a Bachelors of Arts and Masters of Arts degree in Education. She is preceded in death by her parents; cousins, Ruth Stuart Meador and Selma Lois Culmore Sanders and a second cousin, Sharon Sanders Hoover. She is survived by two half-brothers, Lewis Stimson and wife Carol of Austin and Art Stimson of Houston; one half-sister, Ann Stimson Potter and husband Richard of California; three second cousins, Mary Meador Worley and husband Paul, Robert Meador and Steven L. Sanders in addition to numerous family members and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, May 23, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pat H. Foley & Company. A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Westbury United Methodist Church, 5200 Willowbend Blvd., Houston, Texas 77096. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy Justman's honor to Westbury United Methodist Church Library, 5200 Willowbend Blvd., Houston, Texas 77096.
