Douglas Carl Huble, 54, passed away on October 8, 2019, in Houston, TX. Doug was gifted into the world on June 8, 1965, in Houston, TX as the fifth child to parents Anton “Popsi” and Barbara Huble proving that you always save the best child for last. Doug was the life of the party who could always be found wearing his signature ensemble: a sleeveless t-shirt, cargo shorts, and crocs topped off with a Keystone Light in-hand (maybe two). In fact, Doug loved his Keystone so much, it is rumored that he single-handedly convinced the Valero down the street from his house to always keep a 24-pack cold for him.

Doug spent most of his life on the water, never passing up a good sunset on the boat with his wife. In 2014, he and Julie fulfilled a lifelong dream of living on the water when they moved to the San Jacinto River and opened up their home to countless parties and even more lifelong memories.

Doug was a natural-born delegator. He worked as a supervisor at Ryder Trucks and loved the act of delegating so much, that he always made sure to come home and supervise his children as well over everything from towel folding, cleaning out the gutters, mowing the lawn, cleaning the bathroom…basically any household chore he didn’t want to do. While working full-time at Ryder for 34 years, Doug also made time to be involved in his community. He loved coaching his sons playing baseball and basketball at the Oaks Dad’s Club as they grew up and filled his life with neighborhood parties, bowling league, and a large group of friends and family.

Doug was a friend to many and a stranger to none, he goes by many names, “Uncle Doug”, “Douggie fresh”, “Puff”, “Dad”, “Husband”, “Pawpaw”, and most famously “Big D Huble” on Instagram. You could spot Doug at the edge of any crowd, leaning against a pillar or wall, beer in hand, making a new friend or cracking up with an old one.

Doug is survived by his wife, Julie Huble, the love of his life and best friend. They shared a life of 33 years filled with love, dancing, two strong, stubborn sons, and two grandbabies who he adored. He is also survived his sons Cameron Huble his wife Jamie, and their two children Hayden and Hannah, and Spencer Huble and his wife Megan Ludzenski, mother Barbra Huble, sister Cheryl Lanclos and her husband Robert, brothers David Huble and wife Vicci, Robert Huble and wife Teri, and Gary Huble, sister-in-law Amy Grimes and husband Herman, brother-in-law Greg Artz, sister-in-law, Emily Artz, and numerous nieces and nephews: Robin, Nikki, Jason, Adam, Travis, Riley, Drew, Kelsie Farmer, Leigha, Brandon, Cori, Robert, Ashly, Collin, Donald, and Kelsie Wilkins.

Doug is preceded in death by his nephew Landon Perry Huble, father Anton Huble, and 3rd son Clay Chappell.

Services for Doug will be: Friday, October 11th Pat H. Foley Funeral Home 5-7 p.m. Friends & Family Visitation 7 p.m. Funeral Service

In true Doug fashion, a “No Sleeves & Crocs with Socks” party will be held to celebrate his life: Saturday, October 12th Doug and Julie’s Home 2 p.m.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Huble, Spencer Huble, Gary Huble, David Huble, Robert Huble, Bobby Lanclos, Jimmy Kuzniarek, Raymond Walker, Thomas Davenport, Michael Poehl, and Mark Watson.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Houston SPCA.

I worked with Doug at Ryder and shared many a great time with him over the years. I will always remember "that walk" he had and the laughter that surrounded every conversation. Doug could always make you feel better and see the bright side.

I truly believe someone is not gone as long as we are all telling their story and re-living the good times. They are still with us and I know Doug will always be with me.

My prayers go out to Julie and the whole family to rest easy knowing Doug was loved and to realize what an impact he made on all of us that knew him well.

I'm so shocked to hear of Doug's passing.
Coach Liles ALWAYS enjoyed matching wits with Coach Doug and his staff. I appreciated his ability to teach so many kids at ODC how to play the game within the rules of the game. Coach Doug will be remembered with respect and dignity!

The entire Liles family extends their hearts for your loss.

I had the pleasure of working with Doug for over 30 years at Ryder. He was always just the "best guy ever" to work with. His presence will always be missed. My prayers go out to Julie and the family. If there is anything I can do to help or support please let me know.

So very sorry to hear the news of Doug's passing. From myself and the Bircher family, our prayers, sincere condolence's and best wishes, go out to Julie and the Huble family.

Doug was an amazing man and I don't think I ever saw him without a smile on his face. Doug truly had an infectious personality and never met a stranger. Our friendship just naturally occurred. Not sure if it was because we grew up together or our older brother's were good friends, but we were friends the instant we met. We never had to work at it and I do not recall us ever having a cross word. And, despite years of separation and non-communication, we would always pick up right where we left off.

Gonna miss you old friend, rest easy and I hope they have some cold Keystone Light, on a boat, waiting for you. Love you, Bro!

I remember well meeting the Huble boys at an early age at Wylees/The Swimming Hole in Garden Oaks as a kid. We all grew up together through school and had many fun times. Thank you Doug for the memories and great times. We will see each other again someday in Heaven. You will be missed here but you are now in a much better place with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Father. Fly high and watch over us till we all meet again. My deepest condolences to Julie and the family. Hugs to you all.
Mark, Mike, Carolyn, and Buddy Conant.

Over 35 years ago while roommates with Julie Doug would come to see her during our favorite TV show and want to talk lol. Little did I know then I would be writing this today. What a great man, husband, father, and grandfather I would have the honor of calling my friend for all these years ❤️ Prayers to everyone who is feeling this loss, may God carry you and comfort you during this time 🙏
