Dovie Dorthea Alice Smith Joles passed away on September 25, 2015. She was born on February 13, 1959 to parents James and Ann I. Slendor Joles in Waco, Texas. Dovie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend that will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children: James Joles and his wife Janet, Archie Joles, and Richard Joles and his wife Chassidee; grandchildren: Victoria Joles, James Joles, Jr., Pachie Joles, Lacey Joles, Archie Joles, Jr., Blanche “Sissy” Joles, River Joles,Cadin Joles, and Aria Joles; brothers: Mark and Henry Smith; sister, Gainey Jean Wells and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home in the Grand Chapel followed by a burial in Brookside Memorial Park
