Part 2

Spend as much time with them as you can.Time is something we can never get back.You never know when the Journey is over.Don't wait for the funeral.
 He will be greatly missed.  Linda please know that we are still here by your side & just a phone call away. 
   I would ask that in his honor & to best show him respect in his absence. That those of us in Linda & Abagail's daily life. He would want us to make sure they are looked after & taken care of to the best of our ability.
   George My dad would want you to know , How thankful he is for you.And that he would still want you to stick by Linda's side. I also want you to know from myself. I appreciate you & thank you for for everything you did for Dad. And even after his passing you are needed!
Last but certainly not least I do want to give their church family a big Thank you for everything you have done for Dad & his family, Past, present, & future.

I was supposed to read this at Dad's Funeral & of course I forgot it at home. So I am just going to leave it below.
 ~First I want to thank all Of you Strangers for gathering with me today. I am not sure if you all know that you are here to help give this Jon doe a farewell. (they had him in the hospital as a Jon Doe & we could not find him!)
    I met this man January 23rd @ about 4p in the ICU. He looked like my father to me. So I had 2 choices. To try & figure out why my Dad was living a double life or take the nurses and Dr.'s word for it that at the time, saving his life was very urgent & the information could be found out after saving him. Unfortunately I had no choice but to take their word ,as this Jon doe My father never regained consciousness. 
          So in all seriousness I will be respectful in saying this as how HE would want me to. This day  isn't mine.     Thank you all for showing up , for whatever reason that you did. This was a very unexpected tragedy & everything happened so fast. But I feel in my heart that he went in peace with little to no pain.
     Dad was a very hard working man & "the go to "when someone needed something fixed. Most people would say he was a hot head & at one time he was that. But as he aged he learned that it wasn't worth that stress. Something I have yet to learn.( I AM MY FATHER.)
    He became a lil ol man. One that we definitely didn't get enough time with. But as we are too often reminded , all the time in the world is never enough especially when it comes to someone that you are so close to.
    Even with very little education Dad was a very smart man. He was talented & Could fix or build almost anything just by looking at a picture, A jack of all trades. To include inappropriate jokes or sayings that would leave us wondering where the HELL he got that from.
  We lost more then just a lil ol man.He meant so much to so many. A lot more to some than others.
   I end this in saying, Check on the one's closest to you.

When I received the news and that it was bad, there were no words.  Just an awful gut-wrenching feeling. As I reflect over this last week and what seems like a ton of memories flood my mind I realized through life's milestone you were there, actively there.

Part 2

"When words are not enough"

I could not find the words to match my excitement and surprise when you gave me a car on my 16th birthday.  My first set of wheels, my vehicle to freedom and independence (well, as much as mom would allow).  Thank-you did not seem big enough. 

The Dress. Every girl dreams of her special day and "the dress".   You remembered a conversation between Aunt Susie and I from the year before and as the planning began, you brought the dress over to me. There was no chaos, no navigating through countless bridal shops for styles, fittings, and alterations because Aunt Susie's dress was the perfect fit in every way.  In this dress, I felt beautiful, confident, empowered, and excited. You saved me from being a Bridezilla. You were excited for me.

As my new normal became that of a divorced, single parent, raising the boys, navigating and maintaining the house. It was you that I called to ask about DIYs and little repairs. You came over one night after shopping at Lowe's and you installed security door stoppers and locks for the windows at your own expense because you wanted me to feel safe and to be able to sleep at night. There are no words how much your kindness meant to me.

 Although you had a full-time job, a wife and children of your own, and a busy schedule, you still found time to help with my rowdy, rambunctious boys.  You taught them skills that they still use to this day.  There is an old proverb, "give a man a fish, he will eat for a day; teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime". There are no words to truly express I am forever grateful.

Lastly, when my dad died, you looked out for my mom, your sister.  You would make a point to find her little projects to make extra cash because you knew she would never accept from anyone.  You enjoyed taking her out to Sunday dinner. You made her feel that she was not alone, you were there for her and you wanted her to feel your love for her. There are no words for your generosity.

Odell  we will miss you greatly. You will forever be in our hearts. You were always a great brother and friend. RIP

We surely going to miss you so much we were looking forward to meeting up again We always have a great time this just don't seem real but I know for sure God has got plans for all of us we love and miss you forever and always

Uncle Odell, you will truly be missed. I will never forget how you opened your home and put a roof over mine and my mom’s head when we needed it most. Your kindness carried us through a difficult time.

But I’ll also never forget you fussing at me for folding the bath towels the wrong way — LOL. I can still hear your voice correcting me, and you’ll be happy to know I fold them properly now.

Thank you for the love, the lessons, and the laughter. You’ll always be in my heart.

Dad,
    I miss you so much already! Being by your side from the day I was born till the day you passed away was always my favorite place to be. Things will be so different now, But I will stick by Mom’s side a little tighter and a little closer (if there is such a thing). My love for you will never fade , only grow stronger. You were the best father a girl could ask for.  Thank you for loving me more than life itself. Please  rest easy Dad and know that your baby girl will be ok!

As his oldest daughter. I have yet to find the words to put on this memory page. But this meant a lot to me ,until I can come up with some words I’m just going to leave this here.

Pops, I love you, and you will be deeply missed. I will always remember you for everything you did, for the love you had for my boys, and especially for the love you gave me.

There is a memory I cherish—one not many people know about. One night, you talked to me and said, “I was wrong about you. You are a good person, and I would be happy for you to date my daughter.” That moment meant more to me than you’ll ever know.

Little did I know that dating your daughter wouldn’t be easy—because there is no stronger love than a father’s love for his daughter. As a father of three boys, I’ll never fully understand that kind of bond, but I truly respect it. And I truly respected you.

Your voice could be loud and intimidating at times, but deep down, you were a loving man with a good heart.

I know you’re in heaven now, reunited with your brothers and sister. Please tell them I said hello—and yes, I’m still around.

Say hello to my mother for me too. Tell her I love her and miss her.

I love you, Pops. You will always be remembered.

When I think about my Dad and all the good times, there were so many. I remember the days/hours at the softball field watching his girls play. I remember the hours he played catch with us to help us get better. I remember all the camping trips where he spent his time doing all of the “Dad” things, to make sure we were all happy. The times he went from daughter to daughter putting bait on our fishing poles, never getting to actually fish. The Sunday’s at the park where he would barbecue, country music played, and we hung out surrounded by family and friends. There was the time he taught me to drive, I pressed the gas instead of the break and ran into a fence. The times he made me feel safe at Astroworld, he would ride the big rides with me. I would bury my head and he would be screaming, “put your hands up.” There were good times and some not so good times, but I loved my Dad unconditionally. Deep down he was always good, with good intentions. I will miss you Dad, I love you.

RIP POPS!!! One day we will get to see each other again and I hope u are having a blast up
There. Just a week or two it was your bday and we celebrated by having a good cooked breakfast and a large bday basket. U were so happy of the stuff that u got. I want you to know but im sure u already do. We are gonna miss you and we love you.   Your Son in law.. Jason
