

Edward “Ted” Clifton Mellen passed away on Monday, the 21st of February 2022, in Houston. Ted was born on the 17th of August 1970, in Houston, Texas to Ronald Roy Mellen and Ione Marie Milhoan. Ted graduated from Clear Creek High School and subsequently studied Business Training at College of the Mainland. Upon completion of his studies, Ted found a passion working with computers, pursuing a career in network security.
Ted was a gentle man with a generous and loving heart. He was passionate about family. Ted prioritized being a supportive husband, father, grandfather, son, and son-in-law. He emphasized the importance of friendship and was available at a moment’s notice to assist any friend in need. Ted was an animal lover, doting on his dog Boadi and cat Ryker, and donated to animal causes. He served the community as a member and strong advocate of the Cy-Fair Lions Club. He enjoyed gaming, attending the theatre, exploring restaurants with friends, and cuddling on the couch with Nisha and their furry family. Ted will be dearly missed.
Ted was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Caitlynn Bree Mellen; his maternal grandparents, Felix Barton Gable and Ione Marie (née Ware) Deyoe; and his paternal grandparents, Roy Joseph and Doris Elizabeth Mellen. He is survived by his wife, Nisha Oza; mother and stepfather, Ione Marie (née Gable) and Jim Milhoan; father and stepmother, Ronald Roy and Nancy Mellen; children, Tristan Mellen and Shannon Breaux; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Breaux; granddaughters, Chloe and Kinlee Breaux; brother, Timothy Mellen and his children, Bronwyn and Cymri Mellen-Jones; sister and brother-in-law, Alison and Ryan Welty, and their children, Maggie, Libby, and Abby; sister and brother-in-law, Ellie and Matt Anderson; and beloved pets Boadi and Ryker.
A memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 5th of March, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive, where Rev. Susan Kent, Pastor of The Woodlands Methodist Church, is to officiate. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.
