

Born in Quantico, Virginia, he moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee as a young boy and graduated from Notre Dame High School, Georgetown University, and Virginia Commonwealth University. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and completed his service in 1967 as a Captain.
He was employed as a CPA for numerous companies throughout the Southeast United States and moved to Houston in 1981 where he worked as an accountant in the steel, oil, and airline industries. He was an active member of the Catholic Church throughout his life and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Houston.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Yvonne Sullivan Forney and his children, Ned Forney, John Forney, and Suzanne Parsons; his sisters Catherine Forney Ingle and Patsy Pennebaker; his daughters-in-law Jodi Bateman Forney and Amy Barlet Forney; his son-in-law Bret Parsons; and his four grandchildren Ben and Marie Forney, and Nathan and Jake Parsons.
