Edward was born in Chicago, Il on January 21st 1947 to John and Patricia Latham. He graduated from Leo High School in 1965 where he broke the City of Chicago mile record for the Cross Country team. After graduating high school Edward entered the United States Army where he served his country honorably in the Vietnam War. While in Vietnam he was awarded 2 Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star with Valor, and an Army Commendation Medal.
Upon leaving the Army he married Paula Platt on September 25th, 1971 and they had three sons Russell, David, and Phillip. He and his family moved to Houston, Texas in 1985 where he worked in printing and advertising until his retirement. After retirement he worked part time at Home Depot and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Edward is preceded in death by his father John, sisters Patricia and Gloria and brothers Raymond and Richard. He is survived by his wife Paula, Sons Russell and his wife D’Anna, David and his wife Courtney, and Phillip, grandson Christopher and his wife Jennifer, granddaughters Rebecca and Skylar, great granddaughter Alyssa and great grandson Christopher, mother Patricia, sister Eileen and her husband Bruce, sister Judi and her husband Frank, sister Linda and her husband Bob, sister Colleen and her husband Steven, brother Ken and his wife Debbie, brother Jack and his wife Maureen, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends.
Services will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home 10710 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038 on Friday July 3rd, 2015 at 10AM.
