

Mr. Sabo was born in Passaic, New Jersey on the 29th of May 1941, to Edward Sabo and Anna O. Sabo. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering, and received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Rider College. After his retirement from Shell Oil as Vice President of Procurement, Ed became the owner and co-publisher of Natural Awakenings Magazine. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Margaret Austin Center in Chappel Hill. For many years, he was involved with the Klein Soccer Club and the Mirage Soccer Team. Ed ran in several marathons, with the most recent being in January of 2010 with his family.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Phyllis A. Sabo; his daughter, Dawn Sabo; his son, Edward Sabo; his sister, Marie Sabo Recine and her husband, Benny; his niece and nephews, Kristen and Robert Recine, and Joseph, Gerard and Bryan Sabo.
Friends are cordially invited to gather with the family and share remembrances of Ed from four o’clock in the afternoon until six o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 2nd of August, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where the memorial service is to commence at six o’clock.
