On Wednesday, the 10th of July 2024, at 1:47 am, Elaine Daigle Heffler, left her earthly body, and her spirit was taken by Jesus into God’s Heavenly Kingdom, at the age of 99 ~ just shy of her 100th birthday by 3 short months. And yes! she donned her red high heeled shoes and ran into the arms of Jesus the moment He called her name, Elaine!
Elaine Daigle Heffler was a gifted Storyteller. Today, we share HER story!
To share Elaine’s story, one must tell the story of Jesus. In truth, Elaine’s story IS Jesus’ story ~ one of creation, salvation, living to the fullest, resurrection and most certainly, one of song and dance! Elaine was born on the 17th of October 1924, to Stella and Henry Daigle. As a young child, she received by faith Jesus as her Lord and Saviour ~ born again and washed in His blood. When she was sweet 16, Elaine met the Love of her Life, Walter E Heffler, and fell head over heels. The war interrupted their courtship, but no war could separate their love and she married Heff at the age of 21.
Devoted to one another they lived happily ever after, blessed with their 3 lovely daughters: Elaine Kay Heffler Pieringer, Jane Kimberly Heffler Salvadore, and Klare Heffler Brown Bambrick, 8 grandchildren, and 12 greats! She was a loyal, native Houstonian who graduated from the University of Texas and Trinity College of Music in London with a master's degree in piano and organ. She shared her gift of music with her piano students of 30 years and the members of Second Baptist Choir all her adult life along with family, friends, and strangers too! Elaine was drawn to people and people were drawn to Elaine. Indeed, she was quite a Joy Maker! She brought joy and laughter with her handmade cards, paintings, piano performances, and most of all her jokes. Storyteller, Artist, Singer, Joke Teller, Visitor of those in need, Pianist, Beloved Wife, Mother, and Nanie Puddin’ ~ and much more … but most of all, Elaine loved her Saviour, Jesus Christ! And today, Elaine’s story is one of resurrection, singing in Heaven’s choir and dancing with The Love of Her Life on the streets of gold. The Joy Maker has made heaven sparkle!
A cloud of witnesses greeted Elaine as she entered the beautiful Gates of Heaven! Her mama, daddy (she specifically requested, “Go get my daddy!”), her sisters, Henrietta and Dorothy; her son in laws, Stan Pieringer and Curtis Brown; and her beautiful grand daughter, Hailey Elaine Wolcott. But she smiled when she heard a quick whistle and “Sweet Lips!” in the midst of the crowd. Her happily ever after continues into eternity with The Love of Her Life, Heff!
She has left loved ones behind who now know the sweetness of the truth that … God peoples heaven with the best!
Her 3 daughters, Kay, Kim and husband Steve Salvadore, and Klare and husband Tommy Bambrick; 7 grandchildren; Walter, Daniel, Stephen (sons of Kay and Stan Pieringer); Lauren, Emily (daughters of Kimberly Salvadore and John Mark Wolcott); Lily and Tyler (daughter and son of Klare and Tommy Bambrick) and 12 Greats: Joshua, Hannah and Andrew; Jackson, Jonah and Lailey; Abigail and Hunter; Davis and Luke; Walter and Leo!
The family wishes to express a special “I Love You” to our mother’s devoted and amazing caregivers. They are family! Beautiful memories have been made these 4 plus years in which not one day was ever missed of their love and care for our mama. Maria Benita, Maria Mia, Juana, Faby and their children: Jesus, Cynthia, Ivan, Brittany, David, Dyanna, and baby Natalia and our sweet Sue and Francis have beautifully displayed the true sacrificial love of Jesus to our Mamacita!
Mark your calendars and wear your brightest colors!
