Eleanor Denise Thompson

                                                         Remembering Eleanor                                                                         Eleanor Denise Thompson was born January 1,1956, the second child born to her proud parents Horace Chilton Thompson Jr.  and Margaret Ann Thompson in Waco,McLennan County,Texas. Eleanor accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at    Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, where the late Rev. Lovie Grimes was Pastor.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Eleanor was a graduate of Jefferson Moore High school in Waco Texas. She later relocated to Houston where she graduated from Massey Business College and attended Texas Southern University. Eleanor was employed with the Houston Independent School District where she worked at several campuses and retired after twenty-five years. She joined Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church several years ago and loved participating in the Women's Day activities.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Like her mother, Margaret, Eleanor was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking lavish meals for her children and other family members, as well as feeding the neighborhood kids and friends. She worked at several food establishments as a short- order  cook during her college years and later worked in a deli during retirement-serving up great food with a smile and lots of love. Eleanor was always cheerful and a joy to be around , always helping people.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          She was preceded in death by her father:Horace Thompson, Jr., one sister:Yvette Thompson,two brothers:Horace Thompson III and Phillip Thompson, and her stepfather:Douglas Spivey.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Eleanor leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Mrs. Margaret Spivey; five children: Margaret Jani (Coco), Kennikqua Denise (Nikki), Arthur III (choppa/Spitta), Curtis Jr. (CJ), and Curtessa Anna Letrice(Tessa); ten grandchildren: Willie Williams Jr., Jaleel Thompson,Jamya Thompson Casi Kennon,Cameron Kennon, Curslyn Thompson, Dylan Thompson,Ryan Thompson,King Thompson,Myiah Thompson; and one great -grandchild Khloee Janai Williams. Four Siblings:Lesa Michelle,Craig Arthur I(Gwen),Otto Thompson,Calvin Ray(Gwen),First Cousin,Patricia Galbert(Like a Sister),the members of the Levi,Baker and Clay families who are special and dear,and a host of cousins,nieces,nephews,and friends.
