Elizabeth C. Moeller

Our dear Lord wrapped his loving arms around Elizabeth Cecilia Moeller and carried her to heaven on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Elizabeth lived her 90 years on this earth to the fullest, making each and every day count, touching the lives of so many. Victory is hers as she now rejoices with the angels, the saints and her loved ones in heaven.

Elizabeth was born in Garfield, Texas on July 5, 1924, to Thomas and Josie John. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Anton, Bill, Sally, Frank and Tommy. Elizabeth’s spirit and legacy of love will continue on in the family she leaves on earth, her children Virginia (Marty) Martin, Janet (Toney) Griffin and Sherri (Craig); her grandchildren, Derek (Angela) Griffin, Kerri Dumin and Michael Dumin; 3 great grandsons, Aaron, Tyler and Jaxon Griffin; her siblings Edward, Daniel and Margaret along with many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth moved from Texas to California in 1956. Elizabeth’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She was a business woman who owned and operated Liz’s Wash-N-Dry for 35 years. She retired in her 70’s and moved to Florida in 2012 to be cared for by her loving daughter Janet. She remained there until her death.

Special Thanks to her loving caregivers; Lauren Lancaster, Joy Blazer, and Jessie Zamarripa Her daughter Janet would like to acknowledge the extreme compassion exhibited by her colleague Paul Jernigan, for permitting her to have a flexible work schedule to care for her mother as she drove her to weekly Dr appointments for the last 2 years to heal a chronic wound.

A Vigil service will be held on Wednesday, February 11th at 7:00 PM at Brookside Cypress Creek Funeral Home, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, Texas 77095. The funeral Mass will take place February 12, 2015, 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 6646 Addicks-Satsuma Rd, Houston, Texas 77084. The Reverend Paul E. Lockey will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale, Houston Texas 77023.
