Elois Magee Sneed

Elois Magee Sneed was born May 26, 1937 in Walthall County, Tylertown, MS. She was the fifth child born to Eddie Wee and Elma Magee.

Elois accepted Christ at an early age at Magee’s Creek Baptist Church in Tylertown, MS. She attended school within the Walthall County school system. She later relocated to Houston, Texas where she remained for over 50 years. She then met and married Napoleon McGowen and to this union a baby girl was born “Sheryle Trinette McGowen”.

Later in life, Elois met Johnny Sneed, who was the love of her life. They joined together as one in Holy matrimony, combining a lovely family of six. Elois was gainfully employed with Aspen Manufacturing for 30 years. She gracefully retired with their blessings.

Elois always made everyone welcome in her home. She was an outstanding cook, and loved family gatherings. She also shared her master skills of playing cards and dominoes, and was a winner “All the time”.

Elois is preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and 2 grandchildren.

Elois’ memories will be honored and cherished by her loving daughter, Sheryle Thornton and husband Damon; children, Raymond Sneed and wife Eula, Lovie Sneed, Molly Atkins, Lizzie Sneed, and Louriell Sneed; 2 devoted sisters, Alice Hightower and Claudia Faye Williams; god sons and their spouses, Albert Moore and wife Bonitta, and Allen Joubert, Jr. and wife Denise; 8 sister-in-laws; 24 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews; relatives; and many friends.
