

Elsa Iribarren, 88, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, at her home in Houston. Born on November 7, 1936, in Chascomús, Argentina, Elsa was the beloved daughter of Rogelio Iribarren and Gregoria González.
In 1955, Elsa married Roberto Paz, a native of Guatemala, and together they moved to Guatemala in 1956 to begin their family. Elsa moved to Houston, Texas, in 1974 with her three children, Pablo, Anahi, and Mayari. They made their home in Galveston, Texas, in 1975, where Elsa lived for many years.
Elsa was a deeply devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Elsa’s home was always open to family and friends, and she took great joy in cooking and hosting gatherings. She was known for her warmth, hospitality, and the love she poured into everything she did. Her legacy of family devotion and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Elsa was preceded in death by her parents, Rogelio and Gregoria, her husband Roberto Paz, and her siblings: Irma, Aurora, Armando, Rogelio, Roberto, Alicia, Ethel, and Dora.
Elsa is survived by her three children: Pablo Paz and wife Ruth, Anahi Paz, and Mayari Paz; her sister, Emilce Etchetco; her grandchildren: George Aguilar, Nancy Paz-Yahner, Karina Paz-Oshiro, Cynthia Garcia, Natalie Rodriguez, Natalie Lopez, Chloe Paz, and Cristina Paz; and her great-grandchildren: Anthony Quiroz, Jennifer Quiroz, Georgie Aguilar, Luis Leal, Audrina Aguilar, Leyla Barrentine, Avagale Barrentine, Xavier Olivares, and Jai Oshiro. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews in Argentina.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Paola, Elsa’s caregiver, for the compassionate care she provided during Elsa's final years.
Elsa’s family will always carry her memory with love and gratitude, knowing she touched their lives with her unwavering devotion, kindness, and generous spirit.
