Elvira “Birdie” Cortinas went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2017. She is survived by her husband, Jose Cortinas; sisters, Rose Solorio and Paula Aguilera; brother, Jimmy Costilla (Rosa Ella); nieces, Vanessa Chapa and Jennifer Bertrand; nephews, Erik and Ethan Aguilera. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnulfo and Margaret Costilla. Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home Wednesday, February 8 from 5-7 with a 7:00 Rosary. Funeral service will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Thursday, February 9 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Birdies memory may be made to the Houston Multiple Sclerosis Society.
