Emma lived a full life dedicated to caring for others. She pursued a career in nursing and graduated from the Family Clinic and Hospital School of Nursing in 1970. She excelled in her profession, becoming a head nurse at a nursing home; she won awards for being an outstanding nurse; and she even had the honor of caring for former President George H.W. Bush.
Family was the central focus of Emma's life. In August of 1977, she married Wilfredo Morales, and they enjoyed 46 years of marriage. They welcomed their daughter, Wilma Grace, into the world the following year. Later in life, she found immense joy in her role as "Loma,” a combination of the words Lola (grandmother in Tagalog) and Emma for her grandsons, Donovan and Luka Easterby.
Emma was a devoted member of St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, where she found solace and community. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking and gardening, hobbies that brought her great pleasure.
She is survived by her loving husband, Wilfredo; daughter, Wilma Grace; grandsons, Donovan and Luka; brother, Estellito; and sisters, Editha and Jeanette. Emma was preceded in death by her father, Alipio; mother, Marciana; and sisters, Edna and Estelita.
Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home in Houston, Texas, is assisting with the arrangements for Emma's funeral service.
Emma's kindness, dedication, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
