Emmanuel Padua “Emy” Amolenda, 69, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, the 9th of December 2020. Just like he dealt with all difficult experiences in life, Emmanuel fiercely fought his illness with strength and dignity. In his final days, he expressed his fervent wish to continue to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible.
Emmanuel was born in the town of Liliw, in the province of Laguna, Philippines, and graduated with an Economics and Accounting degree from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines. He worked at several multinational construction companies in Makati, Philippines for more than 15 years. He later immigrated with his family to Houston, Texas where he transitioned to a new career in the medical field as a Radiographer for Ben Taub Hospital (Harris Health System) where he eventually retired.
It was also in Liliw, Laguna where he met the love of his life and his future wife of almost 41 years – Kuldip Amolenda. Their pure love for one another transcended cultural, religious, and racial differences. Emy enjoyed playing basketball, tennis, fishing, cooking, listening to music for hours on end, watching live sporting events, and traveling. Later in life he took to gardening and created a backyard sanctuary for his grandchildren, where they can play and enjoy nature. He dedicated his life to serving his family, and was the most dependable, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle one could ask for.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victorio Amolenda, and mother Josefina Amolenda. Emmanuel is survived by his wife, Kuldip Amolenda, his sister Corazon Amolenda, his brother Romeo Amolenda, his children, Rajinder, Ranjit, and Rajbir, daughter-in-law, Casey, son-in law, John, and his two grandsons, Austin and Wesley.
