He met his wife, Elida, at a printing shop in downtown Houston, where she worked. They married in June of 1957. Ernest worked most of his career in construction. He was a member of Humble's First Baptist Church for many years. He had a passion for serving others. He enjoyed visiting and inviting people to church, he served in the church's Food Pantry, and Vacation Bible School every summer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elida Juarez.
He is survived by his daughter, Noemi and husband, Paul Bornsheuer, with grandchildren Ashly, Jacob, Austin, and Ryan. He is also survived by his son, Ernest Ray and wife, Marcia Juarez, with grandchildren Matthew, Lucas, and Selena.
A visitation for Ernest will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM. A burial committal will occur Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Brookside Memorial Park.
