Ernest Rodriguez Mendoza, 65, of Houston, Texas passed away suddenly on July 20, 2016. He was born in Austin, Texas on November 6, 1950. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Tomasa Mendoza, and his two brothers, Roy and Rogers.
Ernie enjoyed a successful career in the grocery industry. He started out by working for Weingarten's Grocery Store while attending Jesse H. Jones High School. He went on to work for Lewis & Coker Supermarket. At the time of his death, he was working for Sellers Bros. Food Market and was about to celebrate 29 years of service.
Ernie was an avid golfer and had played on most of the golf courses in the Houston area. However, his favorite golf course of choice was Sharpstown. In fact, he loved it so much that he lived on the 14th hole. One of Ernie's other passionate pastimes was playing Fantasy Football. He and his very good friend, Tom, had a team called Fire and Water for over twenty years.
Ernie is survived by his loving nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and one aunt, Paula Peacock.
A memorial celebration for Ernie will be held on August 5, 2016 from 2-5PM at Forest Park Westheimer in Houston, Texas.
