There are a lot of good memories of my Tia Tina that I will treasure in my heart. I remember when we came from Michigan to visit and she would let me tag along with her to visit family. I always admired her as a young girl .She showed me what her nightly routine was before going to bed and always making sure she had her lipstick on wherever she went. To this day I make sure I keep up with my own skincare routine and take care of myself like she showed me. In 2017 is the last time I physically saw her and will treasure that time I had with her. She pulled out pictures for me to take and gave me her old camping supplies since she knew we camped a lot 💗 As most of us have mentioned she never forgot a birthday and looking back on my memories I saw she called me a few years ago when she was 86 years old! She stillll made sure to call and sing me happy birthday ! 😭 
If I can just have a bit of that tenacity at her age I will be blessed. My mom always said she was like a second mother to her since my Tia Tina  was one of the oldest and my mom one of the youngest. She would talk about how my Tia Tina worked and bought them school clothes among many other things. She was truly a special lady that will be missed 💜

I have such great memories of Aunt Tina. She was always happy to see you and loved visits with the family. I remember one time when Ernest and I flew to Chico California for a visit. We traveled with her, visiting Aunt Lala (Oralia), Uncle Tuti (Arturo), traveling all over California (Yosemite, Half Moon Bay, Monterey..etc). We had such a great time, great visit. 

Aunt Tina was the main communicator of the Villarreal family. We would call her to see what was going on with the family or to relay information to others or just visit.  When we moved to Washington I would call Aunt Tina on Tuesdays to chit chat / gossip. 

Aunt Tina we will cherish our wonderful memories of you.

Growing up id always see my Tia Tina at my uncle Hectors house during gatherings and she would wear her jewelry she made. I always remembered her as my blue eyed bloned hair Tia.  Dressed well, hair and make up always done. As I got older, I did not see her as much, but when I did it was always good. 

Later in my mid 20s my Tia Tina got sick and she ended up in the hospital. I could remember visiting her and crying because she could not walk, speak, or eat. Soon she ended up going to a nursing home to recover. From there on Id seen my Tia Tina quite often. She said she would get through this and she would be back home ( Her apartment in the heights).  Fast forward on, she has had many challenges since then, but always seemed to fight through and overcame everything. She was a true Villarreal! 

She was  very particular on how she wanted things done. I remember when she moved back into her apartment complex I would help her put things away and I swear she had 15 pares of the same slacks but different colors and always placed neatly in her shelf. She knew were every single paper was in her home and where she wrote down particular things she needed. Id sometimes come over to play mexican bingo with her and listen to tejano as she enjoyed very much. My Tia Tina always gave me my birthday cards too! Never forgot!

A couple of days before her passing I seen her at the hospital. My mom had told me she had been sleeping most of the day and id be lucky if she is awake.
Well, she was awake and alert. Im happy to say I was able to see her with her eyes open before she took her last breath a few days later. I will always remember my Tia Tina and will miss her very much.

Hi Tina, I love you. 
     What I remember most of Tia Tina was her joy-  how happy she always seemed to be. Happy to be with her family and friends, to be alive and active.  I remember when she started making jewelry and she gifted me with some really pretty ear rings. They were so nice. 
I remember so many gatherings at Hectors & Ernest, having so much fun and smiling.  I remember the last time she was at the Spring House- it was Easter 2017 and my Mom or Andrea went and picked her up so she could be with family.  We had such a blast that Easter that we took a picture  commemorating it.  #BestPictureEver!
     I also remember and admired how strong and determined Tina was.  Especially that one year when she was in the hospital and it did not look good- but she refused and she pulled through!  I was so in awe by her. 
     That initial year Tina was recouping I would visit with her and talk- play Mexican bingo.  When she moved back home I remember she gave me some sewing items, because she found out that I like to sew. I found out how she really was a Hoarder- Lol. I guess that's were I get my mini hoarder ways from. 😊 
I miss Tia Tina all the time and I say 'Hi' to her and kisses to her all the time. She is always near. ❤️ Love- Ashley 

My Tia Tina will be truly missed by my family.  She was so special to us.  It's funny how since her passing, I see butterfles everywhere.  I will never forget our fond memories. She would call me and my children on our birthdays.  I still have her voicemail on my phone when she sang "Happy Birthday" to me last July.   I know you are in a better place and no longer suffering.  Until we see each other again rest in paradise.

I will always remember who aunt Tina, working at Albertsons at the time, managed to bring @ 12 snack trays to Chris's Baptism, so that everyone had things to eat. She never forgot a birthday or to ask about baseball. She was always checking on Chris and the girls. Chris and I will miss her dearly!

Aunt Tina loved the holidays! She would always come over with a cake or a desert of some kind. She would make it a point to talk to everyone.  She became Aunt Tina to our friends. That is what they would call her wherever the saw her, “Hi, Aunt Tina!” She and my mother-in-law would always talk about crafting. Both of them enjoyed it so! Aunt Tina never knew a stranger. We have such wonderful memories with Tia Tina.  We were blessed to have her a part of our lives.  She was always be an inspiration to us as she was always very independent, creative, active and had a very strong catholic faith.  We will always love you and miss you.  We know you are rejoicing in heaven.
