

Pete was born in New Braunfels, Texas to Mary Esther Strieber Scholl and Erwin Fritz Scholl. He and his brother Edward Miles Scholl spent their childhood with their loving grandparents in Yorktown, Texas.
Pete graduated Valedictorian from St. Edward High school in Austin. He attended the University of Texas graduating with a BS degree in physics. He remained a diehard Longhorn despite having two grandchildren that attended Texas A&M.
He joined Schlumberger after college and remained a loyal employee for over 40 years continuing to work with their scholarship committee long after he retired.
He met his lifelong love Barbara Dennis Scholl in Bradford, Pa. They were married on October 6, 1951. He is survived by his wife Barbara; daughter Catherine Scholl, son Peter Scholl and wife Mary Beth, daughter Susan Scholl Coakley and husband Mike, son Tim Scholl and wife Carol, grandchildren Michele Coakley White and husband Tony, Jenn Scholl, Patrick Scholl, Catherine Scholl, Ryan Scholl, Jeremy Scholl, great grandchild, Sofia White and Brother Edward Scholl, aunt, Mamie Sheppard, and aunt, Peggy Strieber. Pete and Barbara moved many times before settling in Houston where they have lived since 1969. Pete was devoted to his church and always gave to those in need. In addition to his family, Pete enjoyed barefoot sailing, fishing with his grandchildren and traveling the world with Barbara. In his retirement he discovered a passion for the ham radio using only a keypad and no microphone. Many knew him around the world as WE5N. He also enjoyed all kinds of music ranging from classical to country. Pete always had a smile on his face and was known to have a joke ready at a moment’s notice to make people smile.
The Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday April 12, 2012 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday April 14, 2012 in the St. John Vianney Catholic Church 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail Houston, Texas 77079.
