

Ms. Eufemia Campos Gloria, age 94, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. She was born March 20, 1929. She was raised in the 2nd Ward, went to Rusk Elementary, Marshall Jr. High and Jefferson Davis High School. She is survived by her daughters Esther Campos Gloria, Esperanza (Hope) Gloria, daughter-in-law Janice Marie Gloria, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, by her last sibling Mary Alice (Campos) Lee and many nieces and nephews who knew her as Aunt "Henie".
She is preceded in death by her husband Julio R. Gloria, son-in-law David Trevino, son Eugene Gloria, parents: Tomas A and Efigenia Esparza Campos, and siblings: Calistro, Andres, Eustacio, Porfirio (Pio), Tom, Margaret, Fidel, Rudolf (Klee), Geneoveva and Alejandro (Polly). After high school she worked in the Medical Center as a Nurse Assistant at Herman Hospital and Diagnostic Hospitals. She was an intelligent and resourceful woman.
"Gloria" as she was known by her family and friends loved to dance and work in her garden. She also volunteered several years at the Houston International Festivals, nursing homes and the West End Heights Community Center. She loved her country music; which took her to visit Branson Missouri with Terry's Travels. She enjoyed her senior community outings. She was the highlight at every dance event she attended. She was a member of the YMCA West End "Senior Tappers" and Senior Citizens Center "Cloggers" Senior Dance Group and is remembered for performing at AARP luncheons, St Joseph’s Catholic Church Festivals and the Heights House for seniors.
