Evelyn Commagere Laborde

Evelyn Commagere Laborde, 74 years, died peacefully at home after a brief illness. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to James & Constance Commagere. She is survived by her husband of forty nine years Bernard "Doc" Laborde, her brother James Commagere, and sisters Mary Constance Roth and Martha Culpepper.

Evelyn graduated from Louisiana State University in 1957 and completed her training as a Registered Dietician at the Mayo Clinic.

Her legacy continues through her three children and their spouses, Bruce Laborde and wife Rita, Constance Johnson and husband Mark, and Barclay Laborde and wife Jean. Her grandchildren Tyce, Ellie, Alana, Gregory, Patrick, Landon, Ryan and Kathryn remember her as “Mere”.

Evelyn was an active member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, and is a past president of The Women's Club of St John Vianney. She especially enjoyed her involvement in the Charity Guild of Catholic Women serving as their President 1992 -1993. She is a member of The Aggie Mom's Club, Rabbits, and Alpha Omega Pi Sorority and loved her Wild Bunch, Gourmet Group and Birthday Girls.

A celebration to honor Evelyn's life as a true spirit and angel of this world will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 6 - 8pm, with Rosary at 7pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home 13001 Katy Freeway Houston, Texas 77079 (281)497-2210 Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 3pm Saint John Vianney Catholic Church.
