Evie Imogene Harding

Imogene Harding, age 81, of Spring, Texas passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Imogene was born May 22, 1942 in Crockett, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Marvin E. Butler. The family moved to Houston while she was very young. She was the oldest of three children.

Imogene graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1960. On May 19, 1961, Imogene married the love of her life, Charles S. Harding. They went on to have two children, Chuck, and Patti.

Imogene earned an Associates Degree in Accounting from North Harris Community College. She loved gardening and spent many years volunteering at Mercer Arboretum in Humble, Texas and Montgomery County Master Gardeners during which she became a Master Gardener.

Imogene is preceded in death by her father, Marvin E. Butler; her mother, Lonie L. Butler; her brother, Edgar L. Butler; and her husband of 60 years, Charles S. Harding.

Imogene is survived by two children, Charles Gene Harding and Patricia Yvonne Harding Spurger; Son-In-Law Gary Allen Spurger; two grandchildren, Katie Leigh Spurger Rowe and her husband Ryan Rowe, and Christopher Ritchie Spurger; sister Betty L. Butler Crenwelge; sisters-in-law Martha L. Butler and Jan Harding and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of the Caregivers from Allied Hospice and AccentCare Hospice who provided loving care to Imogene over the years.

A visitation for Imogene will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Pat H. Foley & Company, 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, TX 77018.

A graveside service will occur Saturday, July 8, 2023,, at 11:30 AM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079
