Ewald Otto Schulz, age 97, passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2012 after a brief illness. Ewald was born on June 28th, 1915 in Gross Legden, Germany and immigrated with his family to the United States in 1952. He was a resident of Oak Forest for over 55 years. Surviving Ewald are his daughter, Ursula Thurley and her daughter Lisa, both of Houston; and daughter Roswitha Ramsey, her husband Mike, and their son Blake, all of Chapel Hill, NC. Elfrieda Schulz, his loving wife for 62 years preceded him in death. Ewald also leaves behind various nieces and nephews residing in Germany and countless friends in Houston. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and a long-standing member of the Houston Liederkranz. Ewald loved his family, friends, the outdoors, and crafting things with his hands. His wise counsel, good nature, and lively step will be missed.
