

Frances is a native Houstonian, Youngest daughter to Marcos and Juana Lopez. The Lopez family was very devoted to local churches (Our Lady of Guadalupe, Holy Name, and St. Patrick) She is survived by her daughter, Veronica del Toro Carr and son, Marcos Ray Alvarado. She married her high school love, Raynoldo Alvarado in 1962, who took her daughter from her previous marriage and raised her as his own. In 1973 they were blessed with a son. Frances was a loving and doting mother of two, Veronica and Marcos. She pursued her singing career in 1964 and sang locally for many years in many upscale clubs, appearing on local TV entertainment programs and produced her own radio show on local KLVL radio owned by the Morales family. Frances occasionally, also traveled around the U.S. and Mexico with a full 12 member band around. She assisted her community in navigating the court system as a court interpreter/translator. She worked closely with numerous judges and attorneys to obtain aide for people who were not familiar with court procedures. This became her most rewarding work. Frances was outspoken and never hesitated to speak up for those who could not speak up for themselves. Her heart with filled with love for children and those in need, and she was always ready to help. Frances lived a long, glamorous, exciting and rewarding life and she will be missed dearly.
