Frances "Sus" Lorine Iselt Perales, 78, was peacefully received to rest in the arms of her Lord on June 10, 2025, at 6:10am, in Pasadena, Texas. She was born on October 30, 1946, in Lexington, Texas, the beloved daughter of Alfred Carl Iselt Sr. and Elsie Ivy Iselt. Frances was introduced to Jesus and baptized at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor, Tx. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Houston, Texas, where she continued her journey in faith and her beliefs and hope in Christ Jesus at St. Luke's Lutheran Church through Holy Confirmation.
She was a devout Christian, active in the Church for many years, teaching Sunday School and serving her Lord at every opportunity both inside and outside of church. Her strong, non-judgmental faith was one to be admired and copied. She truly loved as Jesus loved.
Frances resided in Houston for many years before recently moving to Dayton, Texas.
Frances defied the odds at the young age of 18, when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and the Dr's said she would never leave the hospital. This was a challenge she met with extraordinary courage and an unwavering spirit.
A miracle for sure, she proved that all things are possible through faith.
She famously lived by the mantra, "If the doctors said she couldn't do it, she would say hold my coffee and watch this!" and "Can't never could." No obstacle was too great for Frances, who faced every challenge with grace and profound prayer. Her immense strength was surpassed only by her deep and abiding faith in God. She loved our Lord fiercely, knowing His love for her was equally boundless, and laid every burden at the foot of the cross.
Frances dedicated a period of her life to her work at Occidental Petroleum as a Microfiche Reader, a role she approached with diligence and pride. However, her true calling and passion lay in nurturing and caring for others. She poured her heart into raising her three sons, Harold Wayne, Patrick Eugene, and Brian Christopher, instilling in them values that helped shape them into fine young men. Later in life, Frances selflessly became the dedicated caregiver for her father. Her kindness and compassionate spirit extended far beyond her immediate family, as she was always also ready to serve and support her friends, those in the recovery community, and anyone in need.
Frances's remarkable strength and unwavering faith inspired everyone she met. Her infectious smile and vibrant sense of humor brightened countless lives. She touched many souls in diverse ways and will be profoundly missed by her family and numerous friends she considered family.
We were all SPECIAL to Frances!
