

Frank Andrew “F.A.” Klahn, Jr., age 88, of Houston was born November 13, 1937, on a farm near East Bernard, Texas to Frank Andrew and Ruth Irene (McNutt) Klahn. He passed from this life at Methodist Hospital in Houston on Monday, December 1, 2025. Frank spent his formative years in and around Kenney, Texas, where he lived with his mother and maternal grandparents following his father’s untimely death in 1939.
Frank attended a one room school in Kenney until he entered the fourth grade. He moved to Brenham in 1951 and graduated from Brenham High School in 1955. Upon graduation, Frank moved to Houston and resided there for over 70 years. Frank went to work for Texaco in the mailroom in 1955 and retired from Texaco in 1997 as an auditor in the purchasing department.
In 1969, Frank married the love of his life, Patsy Sue McBride, and together they raised their children in Houston where Frank impacted many lives as a member of First United Methodist Church, Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 604, and as a member of the Shepherd Forest Civic Club. After his retirement, Frank enjoyed traveling across the country from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean pulling his 30-foot travel trailer and visiting many National Parks. His favorite place was Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado where he last visited in June 2024.
Frank is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patsy Klahn of Houston, his daughter and son-in-law Katherine and Bill Lanigan of Lufkin, his son and daughter-in-law Steven and Christina Klahn of Katy, his five Eagle Scout grandsons of whom he is extremely proud: Will, Andrew, and Daniel Lanigan of Lufkin, and Michael and Ethan Klahn of Katy. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Debbie Tindall of Sydney, Australia and her two children Jenni Brown of Australia and Shannon Brown of Canada and five great- nieces and nephews as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held at Pat H. Foley & Company, located at 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, TX 77018, on December 11, 2025, from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on December 12, 2025, at 10:00 am with Amanda Davis Officiating. A graveside service and interment will take place at Prairie Lea Cemetery, 1004 Prairie Lea St. in Brenham at 2:00 pm following the funeral service.
