He was born on May 17, 1946 in Galveston, Texas to Fred and Louise (Holzworth) Lemire.
He attended Concordia High School and Concordia Junior College in Austin, TX and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He worked as a prison guard in Huntsville, field auditor for Texaco after college, and held numerous positions over 25 years in the health care industry. He then became a small business owner and real estate broker.
Fred enjoyed spending his time serving as president for Galveston Chapter Kiwanis Club, volunteer coordinator for AAL, working as a Redcoat at the Houston Astrodome, and over 40 years officiating high school football.
Bible Study and worship were very important to him throughout his life. He served in various positions at the following Lutheran Churches: St. John’s in Galveston, Hope in Friendswood, Pilgrim in Houston, Living Word in The Woodlands and Resurrection in Spring.
He married Monica in 1993 in Houston and later moved to The Woodlands. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He was known for his great sense of humor, outgoing personality and persistence. He was an avid conversationalist who loved to challenge, debate and lecture.
Fred is survived by his wife, Monica L. Lemire; his children, Fred A. Lemire and his wife, Lori, Daniel E. Lemire and his wife, Amy, Brandon M. English, Lindsey P. Crocker and her husband, Kevin, and Kimberly E. Goodnight and her husband, Brandon; his brothers, Patrick Lemire and his wife, Patricia, and Don Lemire and his wife, Anne; his grandchildren, Kaylee English (12), Emma Lemire (7), Andrew Lemire (6), August Lemire (6), Courtney Duval (6), Anna Lemire (3), and Wyatt Goodnight (2); numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
