Fred Erwin Watkins

Born November 26, 1929, in Bogalusa, LA and married, Nelwin Yvonne Singleton on December 21, 1957. Mr. Watkins received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Southwestern Louisiana Institute and soon after accepted a position with Camco, Inc. in the oil and gas division where he worked for 33 years, retiring in November 1992. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Watkins had multiple patents recorded under his name. He carried a professional engineering license for many years.

Fred enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, including surveying, woodworking, building and flying model airplanes, photography, gardening, fishing and hunting, gymnastics, drawing comic illustrations, flying small aircraft, and scuba diving.

Survived by his wife, Nelwin Yvonne Watkins, daughter Cheryl Lynn Watkins, daughter Brenda Kay Godson and spouse, Joseph, son David Neil Watkins and spouse, Teresa, son Duane Erwin Watkins and spouse, Kristen along with six grandchildren; Luke and spouse, Emily, Mathew and spouse, Lisa, Amanda and spouse, Nicholas, Kaylee, Chaltu and Rebuma and five great grandchildren; Judah, Noah, Phoebe, Willow and Emma, Brother William Ernest Watkins and wife Francis. Preceded in death by three additional grandchildren, Alayna, Alex and Elias Wilson, his father, Erwin Watkins, mother, Estelle Watkins and sister, Willow Dean Branch.
