

Gary Grady Gray, 58, was born on August 6, 1958, Houston, Texas, and passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 7, 2017. He was born in Texas to the late George Gaylord Gray and late Judith Eleanor Mount.
Gary lived much of his early life in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He graduated from Central High School as a city champion in his wrestling weight class. In 1973 he was awarded the Boy Scouts of America highest honor of being named an Eagle Scout. He attended the University of Wyoming before returning to his Texas Roots in his hometown of Houston.
Gary was passionate about his work with Texas Firecrackers and was instrumental in their success. In his spare time he enjoyed watching football (GO COWBOYS!), going to church, and spending time with his family. Gary was never found without a smile on his face, and those who had the privilege of knowing him were constantly in awe of his positivity, his lightness of spirit, and his kindness.
Gary was dedicated to-and extremely proud of -his three children: Michael Sean Toon (Tam), 32 Alexandra Nicole Gray, 28, and Grant Gilbert Gray, 26. He is survived by his brother Glen C. Gray, his nieces Abigail Nicole Gray, 22 and Judith Chelsea Gray, 22; and his nephew Cory Hunter Gray, 19. He was a loving grandfather to three grandchildren: Kylie, Hunter and Ashlyn. He is also survived by his former wife, and the mother of his children, Ellen M. Toon. He was a kind and caring man to all who knew him, and will be remembered fondly by all his friends and family.
Friends may call at that Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077 on Thursday, May 11th from 5pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held the following day in the chapel-Friday, May 12th at 2:00 pm-with interment to follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
If desired, donations in memory of Gary can be made to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
