

Gary Bruce King, age 63, of Fulshear, Texas, went home to be with our Lord on October 2, 2015. Gary, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, is now free after a 4 year courageous battle with melanoma.
Gary was born on August 20, 1952 to Elton and Marjorie King. He grew up in Simonton, Texas, and graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in 1970.
Gary was a very proud Aggie. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Gary enjoyed Aggie football, golfing, hunting, dominoes and fishing. He especially loved fishing with his family.
After graduating from A&M, he worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Galveston. He then moved to the private sector as a consulting engineer. In 1984 he began working for Hendricks Interests, LLC, where he was development coordinator until his death. Gary was a Registered Professional Engineer and Registered Professional Land Surveyor. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Fulshear, TX, where he enjoyed teaching the adult Sunday school class.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 43 years Phyllis, his daughters Allison Wadsworth and her husband Marty, and Amanda King Teague and her husband Jeremy, a grandson Tristan King Wadsworth, his brother Elton King Jr. and his wife Wanda, and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Elton and Marjorie King and his brothers Phillip and Jay King.
The family would like to thank New Century Hospice, the doctors and nurses of the Skin Cancer and Melanoma Care Center at M. D. Anderson, including the entire 10th floor M. D. Anderson staff. A special thanks to all the members of First United Methodist Church of Fulshear, TX.
A visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on October 8, 2015 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home followed by a memorial service to be held at 2:00pm on October 9, 2015 at First United Methodist Church located at 8201 Harris St, Fulshear, Texas 77441.
