

Gary Dean Tait, 66, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014. He was born January 3, 1948 in Bay City, Texas. Gary was raised in Victoria, TX and graduated from Victoria High School, class of 1966.
Gary served our country honorably from 1967 – 1969 as a decorated war veteran in the US Army. While in the service, Gary earned a Soldiers medal, a Bronze Star, a National Defense Service medal, a Vietnam Defense medal as well as a Vietnam Service medal. After returning from overseas, Gary worked as a crane operator for many years with construction companies in/around Houston. Gary was a giving and loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle to his family.
He is survived by his children, Melanie L. Carrington, husband Carl W. Carrington, both of Fulshear and Jason W. Tait, and fiancé Shannon Brown, of Crosby; brothers James Tait, of Sugar Land, Johnny Tait, of Victoria and sister, Sandra MacIver of Austin, TX. Grandchildren, Michael Tait and Zachary Tait, both of Crosby, TX. Nieces and nephews include: Brian Tait, of Deer Park, John Tait Jr., Susan, Joseph Tait, Charlie Tait,, Gregory Tait, Kimberly, Kenneth, Kyle, Kelly. While growing up, Gary lived with other relatives which he was very close: Aunt Alice Harper of Victoria, TX, Shirley Pope (cousin), Sally Ann Tait of Baytown, TX, Roy Moreland of Wichita, KS, Sherrill of Wichita, KS, & Cindy of West Columbia, TX.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Cleo Tait, mother Agadine Kennedy, and brother, Charles Tait, of Deer Park.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Johnny Tait, James Tait, Kenneth Tait, Brian Tait, Jason Tait, & Michael Tait.
