Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, George T. Denos Sr., departed this life after a courageous battle with leukemia. We were privileged as a family to take this journey with him and thank God that he is now at peace and in the loving embrace of his parents, Tom and Fannie Denos, his brother Pete, and his sister Bessie.
George was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 23, 1932. He moved to Houston in 1969 and worked in the restaurant business until his retirement. He was a devout Christian and a devoted family man. He loved his St. Louis Cardinals all his life and Johnny Mathis, Mario Lanza, Andrea Bocelli, and the Three Tenors.
He is survived by his sister, Maria Kantis (George), his devoted wife Despina, his adored children Maria Casten (Ted), George and Tommy Denos, his precious grandchildren Nicholas Casten and his fiancé Samantha, Elizabeth and William Casten, his brother-in-law Pete Galanos (Donna), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss his jokes and laughter.
And to Elizabeth, our darling granddaughter, your devoted and loving care for Papou will never be forgotten.
Serving as pallbearers are George and Tommy Denos, Ted, Nicholas, and William Casten, Nick Servos, and Stephen Colovas.
The funeral service will be held at Annunciation Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Blvd, on Friday October 28, 2016. Visitation from 9:30-10:30am, the service at 10:30am, with interment immediately following at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Annunciation Altar Fund.
