
Mr. Schalles will be greatly missed by his wife of 66 years, Lois Wright Schalles; son George W. Schalles III, wife Patsy, son Glenn Schalles, daughter Carole Whitmore, wife of Ron Whitmore, Grandchildren George W. Schalles IV, Jennifer Whitmarsh, James Whitmore, Jr., Neil Whitmore, Kristy Marberry, Ranie Warren, Casey Schalles, Katie Allen and Caleb Schalles, Great Grandchildren Braden, Taylor and Emory Whitmarsh, Cole, Jordan and Grace Whitmore, Kayla, Kassidy and Colin Marberry and Matthew Warren.
Mr. Schalles proudly served in U.S. Army during World War ll. He worked his entire career for Equifax.
George faithfully served his Savior, Jesus Christ, and the Houston’s First Baptist Church family as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Co-chair of the Tuesday Morning Men’s Prayer Group. He served as a Bible Study Leader at Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Center and also worked with the First Baptist AIDS Ministry. George was a man of many talents. He enjoyed woodworking. His garden was the envy of the neighborhood. George and Lois loved ballroom dancing with their friends. He always reserved “The Blue Skirt Waltz” for his favorite partner and wife, Lois.
George Schalles was a loving, husband and father, a loyal friend and a faithful servant to his Savior.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday January 10, 2013, 1:30 P.M. at Houston’s First Baptist Church, 7401 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
Memorial donations may be made to Houston’s First Baptist Church Missions Fund.
