GERALD SYLEBA ANGELO passed away February 26, 2021 in Houston, Texas after contracting the COVID-19 virus. While he was not able to be surrounded by family and friends, he was surrounded by their love and prayers. GOD was by his side.
Gerald was born January 29, 1950 to Helen and Syleba Angelo in Beaumont, Texas.
As an only child, he was their pride and joy. He was a graduate of Forest Park High School in Beaumont and The University of Texas in Austin. Gerald lived for a time in California and Portland, Oregon. After moving to Houston, Texas, Gerald was employed and retired from Texas Art Supply.
Gerald was a man of great faith dedicated to his family, especially his beloved mother. Gerald was a life teacher by example. He taught kindness, generosity, trust, love, respect, and what true friendship is. Above all was his unwavering faith in God which guided his life. His friendly personality and clever sense of humor will be missed.
An avid sports fan, Gerald was interested in any sport that involved a ball. Football was his favorite and he was steadfast in his dedication to The Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys (pre-kneeling). Anyone who was ever with Gerald attending or watching his teams understood his passion.
You would often see Gerald with a camera in hand. Gerald’s interest in photography began in high school. He created a lifetime of photographs which tell a story of his life.
Gerald is predeceased by his father, Syleba Angelo.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Arwady Angelo, several cousins and lifelong friends.
